2 HOUR IN STATE LAW

The Indiana Department of Financial Institutions and Indiana Secretary of State applicants must complete at least twenty (20) hours of NMLS approved pre-licensing education (PE) which must include at least:

  • Three (3) hours of federal law and regulations
  • Three (3) hours of ethics, including fraud prevention, consumer protection and fair lending issues
  • Two (2) hours of lending standards for the non-traditional mortgage marketplace
  • Two (2) hours of INSOS specific material – for INSOS applicants only
  • Ten (10) hours of general mortgage topics

The 2 Hour IN State Law pre-licensing elective course has been approved by NMLSR, and meets the two (2) hours of the Indiana SOS specific material portion of the required twenty (20) hours of NMLSR approved education and will prepare the licensee to sit for the Indiana State component test.
